“I moved with friends who inspired me” Iyanu. 20 year old 1st class graduate.

It is believed that ladies love to associate with intelligent guys but there was not much gesture from them. I believe there is time for everything…”

Twenty year old Ayodele Iyanu seems to be cast from a different mold, in comparison to his peers; seems to have been able to overcome most of the juvenile distractions of today’s youth: social media, internet, women/men, music, parties, ‘hanging-out’ and other such non-essentials and has been able

to fix his gaze on forging a meritorious path to success.

Ayodele Iyanu graduated with a 1st Class degree from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University, Ghana in the 2014/2015 academic year.

While acknowledging that obtaining a 1st Class was not an easy task, Iyanu attributed his success to prayers, patience and resilience.

What did Iyanu do differently that set him apart from his peers? He said. “The secret of success lies in the scriptures. I had been close to having a first class in 100 and 200 levels, up to 300 level first semester but I didn’t achieve it until I decided to fully submit to God and trust Him for success. So, I am a product of God’s love, grace and undeserved favor”

Outside his academic preoccupation, Iyanu spent a good deal of time during his course of study in church activities. “I had a circle of friends with whom I carried out some entrepreneurial ideas and I occasionally participated in football matches for recreation…”

Commenting on his relationship with the opposite which is often a serious source of distraction for most young men, he said, “I always defined my relationship with them. It is believed that ladies love to associate with intelligent guys, but there was not such gesture from them. I believe there is time for everything, so relationship was not my priority; rather, I was working towards building friendships and having a good social network.

Exuding unusual wisdom and maturity, Iyanu advised his peers, “Students need to know that TRUE success comes through Jesus Christ only. They should seek him, seek his kingdom and every other thing would come. Also they should have a vision for themselves, study to maximize their potential, believe in God, shun FRIVOLITIES and live a life worth emulating.
