Follow your mind. Choose to live your passion. Find true energy in giving.
There are so many problems and challenges facing the human race today. A greater number of humans and communities are caught up in a vicious cycle of social, political, financial, mental problems which have remained an enduring burden, often without any hope or visible solution. Ultimately what these situations demand is a positive mental attitude and a sense of compassion for the plight of others.I firmly believe we can solve the majority of these societal problems by being sensitive to the needs of those around us; by developing a sense of universal

responsibility, that is, the desire to do something for others without a selfish motive and out of a feeling of compassion. The more should be adequately inclined and determined at all times, not only thinking about the welfare of others and wanting to do something for them, but actually putting these good wishes into effective action.
As individuals, corporate citizens, religious organizations and institutions everywhere, we all have a role to play in the awakening and sustenance of compassion for the plight of others. We must realize that, more than anything else, compassion and genuine love for our fellow man have the potential to increase and enhance global, communal and interpersonal peace and harmony. Absolutely, on the basis of this common potential, understanding and working together can be enhanced. These qualities of compassion and kindness are fundamental human qualities which strengthen mental health and increase our natural positive qualities. True feeling and expression of compassion overshadows every religious, political or social boundary.
It’s pertinent but true that as sentient beings we are often dependent on one another, we do not exist in isolation. Therefore, we should help each other with the same eagerness as our hand pulls a thorn out of our foot, and as we would readily rescue a friend or relation from a difficult situation.
I have no doubt that if we cultivate the habit of remembering the less privileged by focusing on charitable endeavors: an inner commitment to the upliftment of mankind, it will serve as an effective way to diminish our self-centeredness and open our hearts to others, as we generate compassion for them and for ourselves. I am confident that a twofold commitment of looking out for opportunities to help and the actual act of giving of self and resources have the potential to bring the peace and solace to our troubled, distraught and impoverished world.
