A vehicle accident, which occurred at Otedola
Bridge outward toll gate Today at about 7:15am, has claimed one life.
A blue colored Hilux truck, with registration number FST 356 XS
and a truck with registration FKJ 519 CF were involved in the crash.
Investigation revealed that the cause of the accident was due to
over speeding by the driver, who lost control of his Toyota Picnic and swerved
to the line of the truck, hitting the Toyota Hilux by the driver side.
The quick intervention of LASEMA Emergency Response Unit led to
the rescue of one male adult, while another dead person was removed.
The victims were treated by LASAMBUS at the scene, while the
dead body was taken away by the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC.
LASTMA has towed off the vehicles in order to ensure free flow
of vehicular activities.
The
General Manager LASEMA, Mr Michael Akindele, in a reaction, advised motorists
against over speeding and to also adhere to safety precautions while driving
