Sikiru Kayode Adetona, has thrown his weight behind the anti-corruption crusade
of President Muhammadu Buhari, urging him not to relent.

In his remarks at a reception he held for President Buhari
earlier on Tuesday at his Ijebu Ode palace, Oba Adetona remarked that: “we have
been following your policies and activities. We want to tell you that we
support you.
“It is said that if you don’t kill corruption, corruption will kill
us. We don’t want corruption to kill us. Please continue your fight against
corruption.”
The monarch said he was confident that President Buhari will
right the wrongs of the past.
“We believe, Mr. President, that you will lay a solid foundation
for a better Nigeria. We believe you will create a country where everyone will
live in harmony. Where there will be peace and unity among the people”, he
said.
Earlier on, President Buhari who arrived around 6.00 p.m. apologized
for his late arrival ascribing it to the full diplomatic protocols accorded the
visiting Italian Prime Minister, which made him to leave Abuja around 3.30 p.m.
Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, in a brief
remark, thanked all the personalities who had waited patiently.
“There are lots of activities lined up at the State capital, but
it was President Buhari who insisted that he must come to see Kabiyesi Awujale,
that he cannot come to Ogun State without seeing Kabiyesi”, he stated.
The reception was attended by about eight former governors of Ogun
State, 51 traditional rulers from Ijebu land, Otunbas, Chiefs and eminent
personalities, among whom were Dr. Mike Adenuga, Oba Otudeko, Otunba Subomi
Balogun, Senator Lekan Mustapha, Chief Rasak Okoya, Sir Adebutu Kensington,
Professor Oluyemisi Obilade, Professor Olufemi Bamiro, among many others.
